In 2016–2017, Grain Capital acted as the general contractor for the large-scale reconstruction of the existing grain handling terminal and the construction of a new inland grain elevator for Buchachagrokhlibprom LLC. As a result of the project, the company commissioned a modern inland grain elevator with a total simultaneous storage capacity of 50,000 tonnes, equipped with advanced grain receiving, cleaning, drying, conveying, storage and dispatch systems, as well as a remote automated process control system.
Project Scope
Engineering
- Development of Design (D) and Detailed Design (DD) documentation for a new inland grain elevator with a storage capacity of 36,000 tonnes.
Construction and Installation
- General contracting for Phases I and II of the elevator complex construction;
- Fabrication, supply and installation of steel structures;
- Installation of grain handling equipment;
- Installation of gravity-flow equipment;
- Installation of Bonfanti grain drying equipment;
- Supply and installation of Symaga silos;
- Installation of dust collection systems;
- Commissioning and start-up of the elevator complex.
Automation
- Design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of the remote automated elevator control system.
Technical Specifications
Grain Storage
- 6 Symaga silos, each with a capacity of 5,360 m³.
Grain Receiving
- 2 truck receiving pits with a capacity of 175 tph each.
Cleaning and Drying
- Grain cleaning unit — 200 tph;
- Bonfanti grain dryer — 120 tph;
- Symaga wet grain hopper block with a total volume of 1,390 m³.
Grain Dispatch
- Grain recleaning unit before dispatch — 200 tph;
- Truck loading station — 96 m³ hopper;
- Rail loading station — 4 hoppers, 86 m³ each.
The conveying lines are equipped with machinery manufactured by ZEO LLC, including:
- Bucket elevators;
- Chain conveyors;
- Belt conveyors;
- Sweep augers;
- Diverter valves;
- Manual and electric slide gates.
Total conveying capacity — 175 tph.
Result
As a result of the project, the existing grain handling terminal was reconstructed and a new inland grain elevator was built. The facility received a modern grain storage and handling complex with a total simultaneous storage capacity of 50,000 tonnes (including previously installed silo capacity), equipped with advanced grain receiving, cleaning, drying, conveying, storage and dispatch systems, as well as a remote automated process control system.
