SMART aspiration at Nikolaevsky KHP (OREXIM)
A grain terminal with a history of flour production, which entered a new stage of development in 2019: 72,000 tons of storage capacity added; road and rail reception expanded; a 1 km long berthing gallery built; a NEUERO ship loading machine installed. The terminal is located near a residential area, so environmental safety and aspiration issues were of key importance.
Scope of Work:
Grain Capital carried out a full scope of works, including:
- design of the aspiration system project,
- supply and installation of equipment,
- integration of the SMART intelligent control system,
- commissioning works.
The aspiration system covered all grain transfer points: truck intake, rail intake, gravity spouts, conveyors of upper and lower galleries, as well as the cleaning complex.
Equipment:
- 127 units of aspiration equipment (48 units for truck and rail unloading + 79 local filters),
- SMART controllers with functions of self-diagnostics, data logging and remote control,
- Flap system ZEO-VAB for truck intake, localizing dust directly in the pit,
- fans equipped with silencers (taking into account proximity to residential housing),
- separators, scalperators, hopper scales, tripper cars.
Result:
- Ensured full dust removal at the terminal – from truck intake to silo galleries.
- Achieved environmental compliance at the European level: dust concentration ≤20 mg/m³ at outlet (while the Ukrainian standard is 50 mg/m³).
- Optimized installation process: thanks to SMART controllers, the need for kilometers of cabling was eliminated.
- Automation of processes: each filter unit is equipped with its own control block, manageable even via smartphone or tablet.
- The terminal reached readiness for Panamax-class vessel loading, opening new export opportunities.
