We would like to thank the Federation of Employers for visiting our enterprise. We are glad that our experience was useful to them.
Ways of industrial production development: our view
The Employers' Federation, after visiting many factories in Ukraine, shared its observations on the four main ways entrepreneurs start industrial production:
- Path one: small artisanal production from a garage grows into a large business.
- Path two: An equipment importer gradually moves from large-scale assembly to full-scale production.
- Path three: an old enterprise is modernized, for example, when a young manager takes over.
- Path four: a scientist obtains patents for inventions during research and then opens a business where he or she implements these scientific ideas.
We, Grain Capital Group, belong to the fourth path – one of the most interesting, though not the most common.
From science to innovative production
Our journey begins with science: Oleg Gaponiuk, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor at Odesa Technological University, developed many inventions that later formed the basis of Grain Capital in Odesa region. We are confident that the combination of science and production allows us to create unique equipment for elevators. Each of our patents is not just a document, but a realized scientific idea.
Grain Capital innovations: from grain storages to global projects
We build turnkey grain storages, marine and river grain terminals as well as mobile and stationary grain transportation plants. We are particularly proud of our hermetically sealed enclosed belt conveyors. This is a very complex technology, and apart from us, only two companies in the world produce such equipment. Among our well-known projects: Neptun (M.V. Cargo) grain terminal in the port of Yuzhny, Novotech Terminal and Brooklyn Kiev in the port of Odesa.
Working through challenges and making a global impact
Even in times of war, we continue to work actively, restoring the maritime infrastructure, which is being destroyed by the enemy. Our company is organized systematically: we have our own design institute, machine-building enterprise, provide installation and construction services, and develop software for equipment control. Thanks to this, customers receive all services in one place.
We work abroad as well. When the sea corridor was blocked, we built many “dry ports” on the border with Romania to transship grain to the Romanian port of Constanta. Even today, most Ukrainian exports go through this port. We also helped Moldova with its own grain terminal and are participating in the construction of a marine grain terminal in the Spanish city of Alicante.
State support and ambitious plans
At the meeting with the Federation of Employers, we discussed state support programs, in particular "Made in Ukraine". Compensation of 25% of the cost of agricultural machinery and equipment is very important for Grain Capital, because state support helps us make bold plans. Among our future investments is the launch of production of a new type of product - silos.
